More visibility for FLINTA* acts in the music industry. This is the aim of our new music series ‘Lila Metamorphose’ at the Cultural Centre Pavillon, which will start in 2024.
Lila Metamorphose
The music landscape has become increasingly colourful and diverse in recent years. Nevertheless, male-identified artists still dominate the stage game. We want this to change and create a space for FLINTA* musicians. The term FLINTA* stands for female, lesbian, inter, non-binary, trans and agender* and refers to a person’s gender identity. `Lila Metamorphose’ focuses in particular on the rap, pop, synth and indie genres, in which socially relevant topics such as racism, finding one’s identity, stigmatisation and depression are addressed. These are topics that the artists deal with in their music and that the young generation can relate to and identify with. The exchange and simply the presence of musicians needs to be greater. With this series, we want to create a place where they can feel comfortable, unfold, find, live out, grow, develop and gain experience.
‘We can’t change the world, but we want to play our part in creating more visibility for FLINTA* artists. We realise that it’s not always possible to book FLINTA* only. Every band has a different cast and can also include male-read people, which we have little influence on.’ – Lorette & Meike
